These pysankas have been crafted by the Ponad artists association from spent shell casings. They’re each embellished with a tree of life — an ancient symbol of hope and rebirth, found in many cultures and artforms. The design of the Easter eggs was created by Artem Gusev, who previously designed the packaging for the Ukrainian Soledar salt ‘SOLEDARITY. Ukrainian Rock-Solid Strength’.
Currently, these pysankas are not available for purchase. There are only 5 of them available, and you can win one by doing a good deed for Easter: donating $24 or more to rebuild Velykokostromska School in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
Before the full-scale war, 250 children studied there. On October 11, 2022, the school was destroyed by a russian missile. Now, the children are studying online, but dream of returning to their school.
